With props, set dressing, lights, sound, and your imagination, the Lane Victory will become the Earth Republic Ship (ERS) Selket. Commanded by the inhabitants of the Earth colony Eridani, participants in Wave One must choose, or agree to be assigned to one of the Selket’s four departments. Each of these silos will have a different emphasis and the actions taken by the inhabitants will directly affect the other three departments. Don’t worry, we will teach you the skills you need to exercise your role with confidence. (Please note that the following numbers in parentheses are the number of characters with that role) THE FOUR SILOS ENGINEERING This is the central hub for the engineers that keep the Selket running smoothly. It emphasizes escape room-like puzzles and timed challenges. The engineers working here will take care of: the main power generator (4 players), impulse engines (2 players), the Selket’s hyperdrive (2 players), systems and power distribution (3 players), and repair and maintenance (4 players). SCIENCE & MEDICAL These two departments are responsible for inquiries, investigation, and analysis as well as the health and well being of everyone aboard. Both departments emphasize mystery investigation, exploration, and problem solving. There are composed of scientists (5 players) and medical staff (5 players). CIVILIANS This is the largest silo aboard the Selket. Emphasizes role-playing and politicking, this area features the Selket’s merchants (4 players), archivists (3 players), media creators (6 players), politicians and their support (6 players) and variety of other individuals (11 players). SHIP OPERATIONS This department is responsible for the Selket’soverall functionality and the safety of the passengers. This silo will emphasize strategy, tactics, resource management, and plus some twitch-style video games. It includes our lieutenants (2 players), helm managers (2 players), navigators (2 players), communication officers (2 players), gunners/ship security (8 players), and yeomen/liaisons/runners (4 players). WE ENCOURAGE REPEAT ATTENDEES TO TRY DIFFERENT SILOS! Although the plot will be the same, different crewmembers will make each game a unique experience with unique outcomes. If you’re on the bridge in your first run and can't understand why engineering isn’t providing power to the shields, try playing in engineering silo next time. With the exception of out-of-game off-limits areas, everyone will have free access to the majority of the ship. Be aware that while your character might not have authorization for an in-game section of the ship, there is nothing preventing you from sneaking in! While you will be expected to tend to your station at certain times by other characters, you will not be expected nor required to remain at your station for the entire event. You should know however, that ignoring your station might have negative repercussions for the entire crew. CHARACTER VS. CHARACTER SITUATIONS The Wave One adventure features characters whose goals will be at odds with other characters. Although we want everyone to have fun, we expect and encourage conflict between characters (not players).
