All attendees will have the option to create a character beforehand using a Twine-based "game" that will be sent to you after your ticket purchase. Through this “game,” your character will have a back-story that enriches the experience. This is not required to play, but allows enhancements for those inclined to dive deeper into the experience. If you do not go through the Twine game, you will be assigned a character in your pre-selected department based on the remaining roles available. These characters will not have much back-story and while you will still have plenty of excitement and interactions, they may appear arbitrary. Some stations at the ship need to be manned constantly, like the helm. After checking in at the dock, you will get a copy of your character sheet and any add-on kits you have or wish to purchase. After a safety briefing and signing a waver, you will board the ship to join the other participants (maximum 75). From here, you will receive training in your respective departments as well as the basic layout of the ship. This training will gradually shift from real-world concerns led by the Lane Victory staff to the Starship Selket narrative led by our cast. In most cases, one these actors will play your boss in the silo. When training is complete, a dramatic event will occur that kicks off the adventure. For the next two hours, your actions and inactions will affect the narrative and lives of your fellow crewmembers. Depending on your actions or the actions of others, you may be interred in the brig, confined to medical bay under quarantine or save the ship from certain doom! While failure is possible, this is not a game of “winning” or “losing.” Some ship stations, like the helm, need to be manned constantly. We will always cast two people for those roles so that one person is never stuck at a console for the entire adventure. If you prefer staying at your station instead of exploring the rest of the ship (and becoming involved in other narratives), please let your alternate player and supervisor know ahead of time. The narrative will culminate after roughly 90 minutes, with the results of the climax dependent on what the players did or did not do. There will be a parting scene based on the obtained ending and then everyone will disembark. Afterwards, you are welcome to mingle and discuss the adventure on the dock. Most roles are active and have responsibilities! If you would prefer minimal participation, please let us know ahead of time and we will direct you to a suitable character. Please note, should you choose this option, you will still be allowed to interact. PHOTOS You are welcome to take and post photos. We just ask you tag us under #starshipselket
